Bicycle Mechanic

Location: Full-Time | On-Site 

Are you passionate about bikes and love working with your hands? We’re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Bicycle Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for assembling, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of bicycles — from city commuters and mountain bikes to high-performance road machines.

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring that every bike that leaves our store is safe, smooth, and ready to ride. You’ll also help customers by diagnosing mechanical issues, recommending services, and providing technical expertise.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform full-service bike repairs, from basic tune-ups to complex overhauls

  • Assemble new bikes according to manufacturer specifications

  • Diagnose issues and recommend appropriate repairs or part replacements

  • Perform safety checks and test rides after repairs or assembly

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including tools and parts inventory

  • Communicate with customers regarding repair status, costs, and timelines

  • Assist with warranty claims and part sourcing

  • Stay up-to-date with new bicycle technologies and repair techniques

  • Collaborate with sales staff to provide technical insights to customers


Requirements:
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in bicycle repair or assembly

  • Proficiency with common repair tools, truing stands, torque wrenches, etc.

  • Strong knowledge of drivetrain systems, hydraulic brakes, suspension, and e-bikes

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electronic bike components

  • Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance

  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Availability to work weekends and during busy seasons


Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
  • Certification from Barnett Bicycle Institute, United Bicycle Institute, or similar

  • Experience working with e-bikes and diagnostic software

  • Previous work in a high-volume bike shop or cycling retail environment

  • Personal passion for cycling or competitive riding
